when the mail came.

The Box.

The Loot.

To my delight I had a box waiting on my front porch when I was leaving for the hospital in the morning. There is nothing like getting mail especially when it is delivered by UPS. Kathryn, Lisanne, Holly, Amy and Diane, my faithful network of Chicago friends, whom I have not seen in over a year pulled together one of the best things I've gotten in quite some time. The "baby shower in a box" held a whole store's worth of items--preemie onesies (I can't imagine Pepper ever being big enough to wear them even though they aren't even the length of my forearm), books, toys, blankets, and the beat marched on. Everything was a tried and true object passed on from this group of mamas--a sure thing to get me through her first and growing stages of life. Thank you so much ladies for allowing us to look ahead to the day we get to bring her home.
